Excellent craftsmanship--Very Sturdy!
It seems all Wald products are made with a quality, both materials and design, that's rare to find now-a-days. These heavy, rear grocery-bag style baskets will last forever, very well constructed, great coating. My only qualm in recommending these would be the same for all Wald products; they don't seem to be engineered or designed for ease of installation. You really do need to be comfortable with tools and adapting the fittings to your own bicycle design; for example, I had to use a vice and small sledge to re-mold the contour of the bracket affixing the rear platform to the frame portion (where the seat post is inserted). And I needed extra-long, heavy-duty needle-nose pliers, both straight and curved, to hold the brackets which secure the grocery baskets to the rear platform's support rods. If these precautions don't intimidate you, you'll be able to do the installation; if you feel uneasy, allow your bicycle shop or handyman friend help you; the product itself is excellent.

Fantastic!
I use this product almost every day and I still am impressed by its functionality as well as its durability. The only drawback was the position on the cover sheet. "Do not" position the baskets as in the drawing unless you want to shave the skin off of the back of your legs and heels. Make sure you check your "foot travel" before riding after installation. Hence, once that crucial adjustment is made, you're set for life. I'm absolutely sold on this wonderful product.

They work great and were easy to install, a great size and fold away when not needed. It was only difficult to tighten the screws once they were in place.

Yes the pricing on this bike for an entry level road bike looks tempting, but honestly you get what you pay for. The bike looks all shiny with stickers and such but after months on the bike it starts to fall apart HARD. as the other reviewers have mentioned brakes on this bike is terrible, but thats the least of your worries. i think the biggest problem on this bike is just poor build quality. everything will eventually break whether it be your seat, handlebars, or the craptastic gear system. also the rims on this bicycles are perfectly designed to puncture your inner tube so get ready to patch and replace the inner tubing often. To sum things up, beautiful bike terrible quality. stay far and clear.

GMC Denali Road Bike
This is a great entry level bicycle. I knew next to nothing about bicycles but was in a position where I needed a bicycle to take me to work every day (two miles) and school every other day (eight miles).

This bike arrives pre-assembled (for the most part) but be prepared to adjust several functions; such as: the brakes, the crankset, and the chain guard. I spent hours tightening and loosening my chain guard because it was rubbing on my chain, making an awful sound and a vibration I could feel all the way through the bike. I got it to where I can have a decent range of gears, but not what I expected.

Also, this comes with somewhat flimsy schrader tubes. I suggest investing in an immediate conversion to presta tubes and buying spares.

All around a great entry level road bike; it just needs a little love.

Overall decent, but skimps on quality parts
The bike is fine, and I ride it often. It comes with cheap tires and no tube strips inside the wheels. After I got that taken care of, I quit getting flats. Now I can ride and its fine.

I called the service line provided and they referred me to someone's email address to get help with the parts / service. I RECIEVED NO RESPONSE.

The bike is great other than that. Grip shifters on a road bike is a little weird, but they work well. The handlebar grips were not wrapped very vell, but that is a no bid deal.

Bottom line: good value but expect cut corners

Super Cool but.....
First one arrived very well beaten. The packing is horrible for shipping. The bike had multiple dings and scratches. The replacement bike was received quickly from Amazon. I was a little let down with the quality though. Reasons being stickers in place of painting on some parts. Handle bar attachment hardware kind of cheap and still seams loose. Still some dents on the fenders but hardly noticeable All in all my 2 year old will beat this thing up anyways. I just wished it came with better fit and finish for an American Classic brand. This is the problem with most American products these days though. Oh, and if anyone cares this product is now manufactured in CHINA.

Great Trike!
Bought this for my 2 year old grandson - he absolutely loves it! My husband and I assembled it quite easily, and we are not mechanically gifted at all. It is very sturdy and the adjustable seat is a really good idea. My grandson doesn't quite have the pedaling down yet, but he uses his feet to scoot all over the house and down the street. This is a trike that he will use for a long time, and it's built to last.

Great Shirt - but watch sizing
This "Loose Tee" is anything but. Very form-fitting (assuming you've earned a form to fit) but comfortable, this sleeveless T makes a great work-out shirt, running shirt and a sub-layer for cooler weather when you don't want sweat-retaining "killer cotton" next to your skin.

Be careful of sizing, however. Since these shirts run on the snug side (deliberately), and if you're at the high end of the size range (e.g., the medium runs from 38 - 40 and you're a 40) go for the next size up. You'll be glad you did, and you won't look like Dick Cheney in a Speedo.

Not great
I bought this lock at Walmart a while ago to lock up my bike on a University campus and around. I didn't get my bike stolen like some of the other unfortunate reviewers (probably because my bike just wasn't worth it), but I do still have some complaints.

First of all, I didn't want to use the bulky LED key, so I used the thinner one. This was a mistake. After about a year of use, the lock became rusted and stiff, and after a few months of having to push the key hard and jiggle it to turn the lock, the key casing just broke right off: it's not metal all the way through, and the "head" is just plastic. So, I not only had a really hard time turning the key without a head, but I had no way of securing the key to a keyring. Long story short, it's a miracle I didn't lose this stub of a key for the remaining 6 months of use, and it was a major pain besides.

If you have a cheap bike or live in a low-crime area, get a better cable lock for the same price. If you have a nice bike, buy a better lock.

Terrible
I have no idea how this lock has any stars. The only thing it has to offer is that it is cheap. My bike was stolen right off my balcony in the middle of the day, while I was out doing some community service of all things. You might as well put a sign on your bike that says "steal me" if you use the bell lock. Once I get a new bike, I'm going to get a Kryptonite.

Great lock, good price!
I bought this lock for my bike, and I am very happy with it. It is big enough to lock my front tire and my frame (but not the back tire). I like that it comes with an extra key as I am prone to losing things. The lock also comes with everything you need to mount the lock on your bike frame.

In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

Super starter road bike
This is a super value for a starter bike. I'm just getting back into riding after a 20 year lay off. I looked around and couldn't find a road bike at a LBS for under $600. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that much. I found this bike on Amazon and was a little unsure about it until I rode it. This is a great bike for someone like me ( a novice in his 50's). It was easy to assemble and after riding it all doubts disappeared. The only suggestions I have is to get a bike computer, gloves,helmet and a more confortable seat.

Awesome bike
This is a great bike. I am a little over 6ft tall and glad that I got the 63.5cm frame. The bike needed some tuning but a great deal for the price. The STI shifters are really great and the bike rides awesome.

Highly recommended if you are a new road biker!

Sweet Bike!!
5 stars! This bike is great if you are a beginner biker and you want a quality bike without having to pay ridiculous prices for the higher end models. The bike looks amazing and is very enjoyable to ride. Also, it is very easy to assemble. FYI, the shifters don't tell you what gear you are in, so it takes a little practice to get accustomed to the gears.

Very nice bike for the money
Though a bit heavier than I would have liked, it was packaged well when shipped, and shipped quickly. It is a great looking bike, and the shifting components are good for the money. Front and rear disc brakes are so nice versus the typical V-brakes. Front wheel was shipped bent, but Amazon made good on the problem by reimbursing me for the expense.

Nice but HEAVY ... 3 1/2 stars
Bike looks great and functions nicely after a short time putting the bars on, the pedals and the wheels. The gears wouldn't change properly and alhtough I'm handy w/ all things mechanical I couldn't dial in the adjustments no matter what. Took it to a bike shop to have them look at it and said everything was jacked up, and that was certainly true. Another $40 to have it tuned and everything is well now. Brakes, gears.. good.

BUT... THIS BIKE IS HEAVY! There's no getting around that. I didn't notice the weight stated on the description and just assumed it would be lighter than the tank it is.

Also, frame size I got was 16". I'm 5'8" legs about 31". Seat post is a bit long but I don't have to cut it like other posters. If the option was available I would have gotten a 17" frame.

So the bottom line, it looks great, is dog heavy but functions nicely. For a casual rider like me.. it's good to go.

great bvike,terrific ride
Delivery was prompt,the fedex guy even carried it to our 2nd floor!I have never assembled a bike and i could do it effortlessly in about 20 minutes.All that you have to do is fit the front tire,reflectors and seat post.the derallieurs come pre-tuned,so you are ready to ride 30 minutes after the package arrives.
I ride the bike once a week on off-road trails.Handling is terrific,although the rear derallieur can get stuck once in a while.I take meticulous care of the mechanism,wash & oil after each ride,tuned perfectly,so the rear derallieur thing is a bit of a let down when i take to steep uphills although it does not glitch all the time.

Everyone's correct abt the seat post.it was too long for me and I'm 5' 9'' and I had to cut it,but now the seat post is loose most of the time and i have had to tape it for extra grip.

aside from that the front shocks,disc brakes,kenda komodo tires are a dream.the thumb shifters work effortlessly.take good care of the front shocks and you can hear them work.I travel on all sorts of terrain on my rides(asphalt,grass,gravel,mud)and so far have not had any handling or stopping issues.

the paint scheme is ordinary but if you are looking for performance over looks,this is the bike to own.

Missing Parts
The bike arrived on time (one star for that). It looked like it had been opened and repackaged. There were many parts missing (brakes, screws, bolts etc). There was no way I could put it together.

As my wife would say, "It's an awesome bike!"
Other than the fact that our son doesn't really like to ride this bike, it's great! Our two year old got this bike for his birthday but is still attached to one of those cheap Little Tykes red and yellow four wheel jobs...even though we got rid of it a month ago. Anyway, back to the bike...it really is great. Huffy has always made great durable products (I had one and beat the crap out of it for years!). It was very easy to put together, all the parts were in the box and the bike was received from order to door in under a week. This thing should last him (hopefully)another two years (he's very tall!) at least and hopefully one of these days, he'll actually get up enough guts to ride on it for more than 4 minutes without wanting to get off and look for the Little Tykes thing or pick his nose.

Good bike, but...
Overall, this is a fine bike for my nearly-4 year old. The only problem he has is the left pedal keeps unscrewing and will fall off if I don't tighten it after about 10-15 minutes of riding. I have tightened it with a wrench, but it doesn't help. If not for the pedal problem, I would rate this bike 5 stars.

Bright is an understatement
I bought this light after a few weeks of painstakingly trolling Amazon for a quality and inexpensive light. I was originally attracted to the sleek futuristic looking design, followed closely by its high reviews from other customers. As others have noted, I see where a small crack could form on the backing, but a properly sized screwdriver and some gentleness should alleviate any problem. This light is great. It fits on my bike snug, it has 3 separate functions, all easily operated by a single rubberized button Also, it is REALLY bright. (WARNING: don't look into this light directly if your eyes are sensitive) I would definately suggest this to anyone looking for a cheap, well put together light.

Rear bike light
I had one before and lost it somehow, so I ordered another. They have a great visibility range and several settings for display. Great product, will provide notice for your safety.

The flash mode is the best I like in this product. It can be seen from far off which is good when biking in the night.

The Right Ride

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

What I expected
This is my first (ever) road bike and while I have friends who are bike people, I decided not to spend the money they were recommending. My goal is to simply ride a bike for exercise, and whether I ride a Mountain bike for 2.5 hours and travel 25 miles or ride a Road bike for 2.5 hours and travel further - doesn't really matter; the determining factor for me is the 2.5 hours.

But I succumbed to the temptation and bought a road bike and after doing all the research online and in the stores that I could - I decided that I wanted the Tiagra shifters as a minimum. This bike suited that and came with pedals as a 'bonus' (not the most expensive add-on component that I need - but it saved a few bucks).

The bike arrived as expected - a small hole in the carton had me worried - but I didn't see any damage from whatever made the hole. I had the bike assembled in less than an hour (didn't even have to try and read the instructions).

I assumed that since both shifting mechansisms were in place when the bike arrived - it would be factory setup / adjusted. How wrong I was... both derailleurs were off - the front being the most frustrating. It seemed to work out of the box when I took off down around the block - but when the first real test came, 20 minutes into the ride and shifting was a challenge - I couldn't get it to shift to the front center ring consistantly.

Back at home - I took the chain out of the front derailleur and figured out the mechanism and associated adjustments (I'm pretty mechanical). With the movement understood and adjusted, I put it all back together and tried it around the block. Again - it worked fine... until my NEXT real ride and once again, 20 minutes into the ride - shifting was inconsistant.

While riding, I made an adjustment to the cable (there is a minor threaded 'length' adjustment on the down-tube) and shifting was again fine. I THINK I'm suffering from cable stretch and I hope (expect?) it to quit as the cables age. If this problem continues - I may have to change the shifting cable.

The other problem that annoyed me was the front wheel had a couple wobbles in it. I took my first ride with the wobble determined not to let it annoy me (heck - it's still basically round - right?), but I couldn't get over it. So - I brought out my spoke tool (AKA crescent wrench), marked the wobbles and adjusted the spokes. I impressed even myself - the wheel trued up perfectly - I can't see the wobbles anymore with MY eyes.

So - bottom line experience... ok (not excellent - but acceptable). Just remember - if you're buying a bike online because it will save money - you can either 'save' that money and do the work yourself or pay a bike shop to do the work - which means you probably didn't save any money. If you're going to hand your work to the bike shop - you should probably buy your bike there - they will be MUCH happier working on something they sold than something they are just working on.

Good Bike to start out with
This was my first road bike and I chose to assemble it myself. It wasn't difficult although I had to learn how to tune the bike (www.bicycletutor.com) before I could ride it comfortably for long distances. No problems in 2.5 weeks, just expect to spend some time tuning it yourself or paying to get a bike shop to tune it for you.

Decent bike, great for the price.
I did a lot of shopping around before deciding to buy this bike. If I had a bigger budget, I would have gone for a better brand with carbon seat stays, but on a tight budget this is by far the best value for the money that you will ever find. Ironhorse isn't top of the line, but it is definitely good enough to do the job for beginner to intermediate riders. The frame is well built, with clean welds and a nice matte finish. Overall a great bike for the novice rider. Here are a few of the pros and cons:
PROS:
- Carbon Fork
- Shimano Tiagra Components with dual-lever shifters
- triple crankset adds weight but is good for climbing hills
-comes with smarty pedals which are a plus
-Vitorria Zaffiro tires are a huge step up from typical stocks
-Rims aren't WTB like the ad says, but the Freedoms are pretty good too

CONS:
- Bar Tape is TERRIBLE!!! Spend $16 and get some decent cork wrap.
- Selle Italia X2 is ok for races, but is terribly uncomfortable for distance training
- 27 speed drivetrain is slightly on the heavy side
- Low stem angle causes handlebars to be positioned a little lower than ideal

But the bottom line is that you can't get a bike with a carbon fork and Tiagra drivetrain for under $600. This bike is an incredible value. Hence the 5 star rating.

Not bad for what it is. You'll need help or experience to assemble it.
I was intrigued by the endorsement and the fantastic price. I figured it ahead of time for a Dynacraft (Walmart) and it was. As with all Walmart type bikes it was poorly protected in its box and arrived scratched and with a broken brake handle. I'm a bike mechanic so finding a spare handle was no problem and the scratches were cosmetic only.
The bike is pure Walmart quality, meaning standard but functional components. It does have a 3-piece crank and decent Tektro copy brakes however.
Assembly took 45 minutes (unusually long for me) because both rims needed to be trued, the brakes and dérailleurs adjusted and re-torquing of several connectors.
I do like the bike though. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be (sub 30lbs) and rides and handles rather well. It'll be an excellent short-commuter and gravel path bike. It's definitely not for mountain biking but, for what I paid, its not bad at all. And it does have the 'Tony Hawk' logos. Just be prepared to do a lot more than put on a wheel and go for a ride when it arrives.

Good bike
I received the bike very quickly, it came with instructions for the minimal assembly required as well as the tools needed. The brakes and gears do require some tweaking, many parts had to be loosened and adjusted, and the chain comes without grease. If you are not familiar with bicycle assembly you may be better off taking it to your local bike shop. Once i put it together and made all the proper adjustments i have no complaints. It is a smooth riding bike with a sturdy frame. If there are any problems in the future, the forks/frame have lifetime warranty and all other parts are under a 2 years warranty.

Pretty but not good
It's very pretty and my daughter really loved it. However, we ended up returning it after one day. The pedal fell off continuously. The manufacturer didn't make the pedal insert area properly. Instead of spinning, the pedal would unwind itself and fall off. It was annoying at first then became dangerous as the pedal fell off in the middle of riding on the road. The floor model was doing this when we were trying it out at the store. We assumed it was due to over-use from the potential customers. It turns out that the bike parts are all made improperly.

Get this bike!
This is an excellent bike! It was easy to assemble and the quality seems to be just fine. I was considering buying each of my daughters an (expensive) Trek bike from one of our local bike stores. After thinking about it, though, I decided to buy this one instead since I thought she would grow out of this size bike after just a year or so. I try to buy high-quality products, which is why I was considering the ($150+) Trek. But I'm really glad we decided on this one. For a little girl's bike, this one is just perfect. For the money, it was a great buy. My girls love to put things in the pouches that are attached to the front of the bike. I think the bikes are prettier in person than online, too. If you're considering a bike for your little girl, I highly recommend this one!

Great Bike!
I bought this bike for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. I was not sure if it would be too big, but it was perfect! I can also see her being able to use it for years to come. She rides around on it like she is a teenager, she really loves it, which is what matters most to me. I also bought her the matching princess helmet and arm/knee pads. I got it for $68.99 at Walmart, and it was already assembled! I am very pleased with this product. I would recommend it to friends.

awesome xc glove
I bought these gloves to replace a pair of AXO gloves because I wore holes in the palms. I also chose the Slice gloves after trying a pair on in the fingerless version. I needed full finger for full coverage and a sure grip on the brake levers. The final reason I bought these gloves is for the padding on the palms. Very simple - easy to install
This is a good bottle cage. It installed very easily, has an easy-to-adjust screw to set the width of the bottle opening, and securely holds the bottle. The cage doesn't "spring" to allow for the bottle to come-out more easily, but I think this is better: there's less risk of having your bottle fall-out.

Great!
Great water bottle cage. It adjusts to allow bigger bottles by a little knob on the bottom you can turn looser or tighten for smaller bottles. Easy to install, all you need is the two little screws that screw onto the frame of the bike. It doesn't come with the screws though but most bikes have them already. If all you have are two holes there, then you'll have to find/buy the correct screws to install. Hope this helps future purchasers!

Excellent affordable bike.
For the money this bike is worth it. I wanted a street bike for traveling, but didn't want to spend too much and that is just what I got. It is super lightweight, fast and easy to assemble with basic tools. The only complaint I have is the seat hurts. This was easily solved with an aftermarket gel cover. I have done 100 miles now with no mechanical problems at all.

Excellent, worth considering
I bought this bike to replace an old mountain bike that I rode just to make sure I could make a habit out of riding. This is my first road bike, and I was concerned about having my big body on such narrow tires at 120psi. I bought the 58cm, and I am 6'2 or 6'3 with a 34in inseam.. bike fits excellent, almost like I measured for it. After assembling I spent some time with adjustments and tweaking, oh and immediately flipped over head peice to raise the handlebars. Oh, and took the clips off the pedals.

I have spent some time tweeking and I still dont like how the rear and front derailers are acting. I blame my lack of experience though, not the bike. Although I did have to move the shifter for the front derailer, and now I cannot get it to tighten and hold securely... will probably try something serious, like glue or epoxy, as rubber does not seem to work. also when sprinting the handlebars occasionally make a creaking sound, but probably due to being aluminum, and not actually indicating probable structural failure. And fixed one flat, it was my fault though as I moved valve stem too much causing rubber to tear. The rim tape appeared good and thick, if people are having issues its cheap to replace, but I have not had a problem.

I've had this bike for almost 3 weeks, and as of today I've put a total of 270 miles on it. I love it. I did put on a new seat though, but never even tried the other one, I just had a better one on a different bike. the seat appeared to be well padded and ergonomical though. I now go 6mph faster than I did on my old bike without even trying, but being on a bike like this gives you more motivation (you gotta look like you know how to ride when you're on a nice looking road bike), so my rides to school and to work are much faster. I can easily put on 20miles in one day. I've had it up to 27mph, thats downhill and with a breeze, but not trying very hard. its pretty easy to hold 19-21mph on a smooth flat surface. Everyone thinks I paid double what I spent on this, which is good, other than my refusal to show my girlfriend the receipt. And I have ridden on some rough streets, and a mile down a deep graveled country road, and the bike seems to be holding up well. I am planning on tearing it apart sometime soon to make sure nothing is wearing badly.

All in all, this was a good purchase for the price. If you're trying to decide whether to buy this, I'd recommend it.

Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.

Good Product for the Price
Was looking for an inexpensive bike to do some cardio and get in shape, so I selected the Mongoose Montana. I haven't rode a bike in about 10 years so I figured that this would be a great starter bike. The bike came fairly quick and after having it adjusted at the bike shop, I was riding in no time. I take the bike out almost every other morning and haven't had a problem yet. I even ride off trail in a neighborhood park and find the ride to be great. The breaks tend to be a little tight but that's an assembly issue. Overall, this is a great bike for the price.

Terrible Bike Part II
I got this bike for my wife. The second time we took it out, the rear cassette (thing that moves the chain with teeth around the wheel) broke. We were a few miles from home and it snapped into pieces. I would spend a little more money to bet a better bike with lots of better reviews. It may help to try it out before purchasing. The seat on this one could be lots better. Not happy. Returning it.

Pretty OK
I have had this bike for about a month now and ride it every day, mostly in town. It's nothing fancy. I bought it (not from Amazon) fully assembled, but had to tweak the brakes. I really don't know much about bikes and had not had one in 15 years. The bike is really nothing too fancy. The frame is a little more compact and I also experienced the problem with the tire hitting my foot on sharp turns. I thought I just had big feet. It isn't too much of a problem. I like my little bike.

I was very disapointed with torn up box and missing bolts from shipping which makes it even worse when there metric! grandaughter still loved it though even with scuffed paint. still a good buy in my book.

good bike for pre-school kids
my daughter got the bike and loved it. It was perfect to grow into and now that she has it figured out.

A few kinks, but a decent ride
My granddaughter loves Dora, so she was delighted with the bike. One of the pedals kept falling off and we had to work a bit to keep it on and it took her a while to figure out how to keep going forward. The brakes are very responsive. Overall, though, it seems fairly sturdy and is a good first bike for a preschooler.

Good quality and cushion
Looks good and works well. The gell cushions the nerves on the palm of my hand. I only wished there was more gell for the center part of the palm since I get pain there on long rides. Material is fairly durable and comfortable.

MODERATE CONFORT.
IT'S OK. MAYBE A LITTLE SOFT FOR A GREAT CUSHION AND PROTECTION, THE MATERIAL ARE OK, AND FITS VERY WEEL.

Comfortable junk
Gloves have become a real sore issue with me, because unlike my mid-'80's vintage leather gloves with a knit cotton back, the bicycling gloves today are all made of synthetic materials that seem to be chosen for the lowest cost, rather than function. I threw my 80's glove away as I never did wear them out. Big mistake!!! Don't get me wrong, my Kevlar wakeboarding gloves are all synthetic too and are absolutely bomb-proof, but turn any glove inside out these days and you will see a dozen little snippets of polyurethane "cloth" sewn together with horrific workmanship padded by stuff you put between your camper shell and pickup bed.

As for these gloves in particular, after a single 80 mile ride with about 4,000 ft of climbing on a very hot day the gel pads were completely collapsed - in the very first outing!!! My riding partner bought the same gloves for about half the price I paid from the PI outlet store and his collapsed on the same ride, and we both ride very padded handlebars.

The best part about these gloves is the design of the pads (NOT the implementation, for sure) which are the best I have found at preventing numbness. Too bad PI can't find a good source for actual leather, a few seamstresses who can sew a glove's 2-3 required seams, (gloves, like boots, should have a few seams as possible) and some actual Spenco quality gel. A note to glove designers (assuming they aren't all designed my marketing idiots) the seams, in general, should be on the OUTSIDE of the gloves, so the edges don't stick into your hands and fingers. Before you buy your next pair of gloves, turn them inside out. I think you will be stunned at the garbage the industry is putting out.

In summary. These gloves are state-of-the art, PATHETIC!

PS: I would genuinely appreciate a recommendation from readers if they know of a really good pair of gloves.

Quality product and excellent value
I was going to buy a more expensive brand of bike trailer which I had previously tried, but decided instead on the WeeRide Co-Pilot because of the price. I am glad I did. I'm very pleased with the WeeRide Co-Pilot. It was simple to assemble and attach to my bicycle. My 5-year-old rides on the back very comfortably. It is well made, stable, solid and tracks behind my bike effortlessly. It is an excellent product.

Must have gotten two Lemons
After reading the previous reviews, we decided to order two of these for our 4 and 5 year olds. They arrived promptly and were easy to assemble. Problem is... I followed the instructions precisely but when I attached them to our adult bikes, they were both slewed to one side. No matter what I did, I couldn't get them to sit straight up and down. I changed them around from my bike to my wife's but neither one worked.

What we wound up doing is sending them back and went to our local Bike Shop and bought 2 Trek trailers. They made sure the trailers fit and worked perfectly with our bikes.

The only saving grace was Amazon... There was absolutely no hassle with returning the merchandise, no questions asked. I have been a steady customer of Amazon for a number of years and this was the first time I had to return something. I wasn't sure what would happen, but I was pleasantly suprised by the efficiency and quickness of the return process. My account was credited in no time. This type of service will keep me coming back and shopping with them for a long time. Beats driving to the Mall every time!

Perfect step after a trailer.
My 5 year old was just too heavy to pull in the trailer. This is perfect as her pedaling really does help move us. This is especially helpful on an incline. She cannot ride a two-wheeler yet and has no trouble with this as my bike holds her up. Easy to hook up and unhook and not too heavy.

Great Bike
This is my first time writing a review. I purchased this bike a few days ago and can't be more pleased with the purchase. I took it on about an 8 mile ride (had to break it in). I wasn't sure what I was getting into having previously only owned mountain bikes. I love the flat bar system, being that I am a pretty big guy (I'm about 5'10" and 240lbs) I know I wouldn't like the standard road bike handle bars. The 700c tires get you up to speed effortlessly. I was riding with a good friend of mine who owns a mountain bike (I let him ride it and it convinced him into buying a road bike). Riding downhill was a thrill no need to pedal just let the tires do all the work. I bought the bike wanting to get into a new hobby and also getting back into shape after having knee surgery and gaining about 40lbs. I would recommend taking it to your local bike shop to get a tune up, averages about $40. The only negative I can think of is while I was riding I noticed the chain would rub in certain gears. Having looked and shopped around online and at the local bike shops this bike was definitely worth every cent. Overall, the bike was a great buy for the money, very durable, very comfortable, and very fun!!!

good quality with bad seat
This is good bike with good quality. The worst thing I hate is the seat. very badly designed. You can't even go for 2 miles with comfort. The gears does'nt work from 3 to 2. This is very light bike with easy ride. I have tried for 4 time it will be good once I get better seat. I would recommend it.

excellent bike
wow, what a great road bike. I purchased this bike just a few weeks ago for an alternative way to get to work since my transmission went out on my car and I couldnt afford to fix it or buy a new car. Easy to assemble and I have no prior bike experience. I'm 28 years old and haven't owned a bike since I was about 13 years old. I can't reaally compare this to others but I can say this that this bike is extremely light weight at about 42 pounds with thin tires to pick up speed quickly. I absolutely love this bike and the gears are easy to change and the bike handles the road very well but the schock's aren't the greatest and you will feel every bump on the road. the only thing I could recommend to replace from day one is the seat. The seat is hard as a rock and after a few miles your butt will feel like its on fire. Other than that this bike is great for the road, bike trails, or commuting to work just replace the seat. All in all I give this bike two thumbs up and highly recommend it.

You Get What You Paid For
Sometimes being frugal about certain items is not worth in the long run. Take this bike as an example. Took it out of the box and, at first, looks very promising. After placing all the parts together (handle bar, front tire and seat) took it for its first spin. First thing I noticed that it wasn't shifting (rear) correctly. Brake pads (front and back) need adjustments to make them not rub against the rims. Took it back home right away and discovered that the rear derailleur is bent - signs of poor/very cheap quality. With my bare hands, straigthened the rear component and took it for a spin again and after adjusting the brakes. I got the rear gear to the highest number but couldn't make it go to the lowest number - more adjustments. Despite being Shimano components, I was very disappointed of the low quality parts. So just expect to make quite a few adjustments with this bike. If you are not mechanically inclined, try asking your friends or make some new ones who are, otherwise, to the bike shop it goes.$$$

Something is loose...always!
I got this bike 4 months back and ride it 3-4 times a week 3 miles at a stretch. The problem with the bike is somethng is always coming loose...usually its the handlebar or the brakes or something else.

If you are a first time buyer, i would infact recommend not buying online as more than assembly getting the bike right is not easy and in this price range you will find a lot of options at the local walmart.

needed a new derailer
I was not able to assemble the bike and ended up spending another $100 getting professional assembly. They pointed out that the problem I was having is that the derailer (sorry, I forget the French spelling) was bent and had to be replaced. So, that ended up costing even more.

In the future, I will buy my bikes from bike shops instead of risking damage and uncertainty in shipping.

Seems like the same old shirt or is it...
I like Russell tee's and wear them because they are oversize and sturdy. The latest I received does seem slightly less fluffy, but the tag states it is another process -- moisture wicking, dries 4 times faster. I don't know if this is just hype or they have made it differently. The proof is in the wearing and laundering --- time will tell.

R.A. Not What They Use to be
Russell Athletic once made really great heavy cotton pocket tees (I have bought many over the years. I guess to hold their same pricing they have continued to make them from lighter and lighter weight fabrics. Sadly they are not any better than any other tee shirt out there at this point. It is getting impossible to find a good heavy cotton pocket tee anymore. Sorry, but why is it nobody wants to put a fricken pocket on their shirts anymore?? I quit smoking, but I still need a pocket for glasses or a pen! If anyone knows where I can find a pocket tee as heavy as R.A. was 4-5 years ago please let me know. I am still looking.

Good product, a little technical
The unit has a lot of functions and you'll have to read the manual a couple of times to figure out how they all work. It does work great once you get used to it and I really like the "Fat Grams Burned" feature...Makes me feel like I really accomplished something!

Good Computer for its Price
Considering the price of this bike computer, it is a very good buy. The 17 functions are wonderful to have, but the buttons sometimes will stick so that you have to push harder and can go further than you want.

Cheap, and the wire is too short for me.
It's cheap. It's hard to argue with $10. But it looks cheap too.
The cable is too short for me on my recumbent. It won't reach to where I can easiy see it on my handlebars. Instead, I mounted it sideways on the frame, but all I can really see is the speed.
It's not a total loss, however, because it does log distance and average speed and time and max speed. I can review that later, off the bike.

I have been taking many cycle classes and finally purchased some cycle shorts. They make the ride more comfortable on my backside - the only slight drawback is the elastic around the thighs. They are not tight on me but could be on someone with larger thighs.

Great Bike Shorts!

Very comfy! But could use a bit more padding
I'm a beginner when it comes to biking and I was looking for something comfortable that wouldn't break the bank. These shorts are definitely comfy, affordable, and make riding much more enjoyable. One thing that was important to me was that the shorts fit my thighs. I have pretty big thighs, but these shorts are just perfect. The sizing worked out well too, I am currently wearing a size 14 jeans and I got the XL which was perfect. The only reason I didn't give these shorts a 5 is because I think it needs a bit more padding so you can wear it for long rides.

awesome product
We got this for my son's second b-day. He's of average (or a bit below) height and with the seat all the way down it was a bit too big. He was still able to walk with it and within a month or two had grown tall enough to use the seat. After 2+ months of riding, he's got the concept down and my husband has to jog to keep up. He absolutely loves it!! It's a great way to tire out an active toddler!! I highly recommend this product. I can't wait to see how much it helps him when he tries a real bike...I wouldn't be surprised if we skip the training wheels altogether. I would have given it 5 stars but my husband (who worked in a bike shop) says his only complaint is that it could be constructed better (i.e., better quality materials).

Great bike!
Love, love, love this bike. My son (now 3 1/2) is no gifted athlete and we had lots of trouble teaching him to pedal a tricycle. He got this bike the xmas after he turned 3 and he jumped on it right away and took off. He goes so fast on it now and is so confident that he only wants to ride the bike now. My German nephew (these bikes are the norm in Germany now) went straight from riding this bike to a real bike without training wheels - no problem. Great quality, fun colors, haven't found a downside yet.

good concept, overpriced for quality
The concept is good. I think my 3 y/o will easily be able to ride a 2-wheeler thanks to it. But for over $100, I'm not impressed. The quality is so-so and the directions to put it together were the absolute worst--it comes w/ a manual of pictures and warnings in 5 different languages, but only 2 or 3 sentences on how to put the silly thing together. Very vexing. The seat ahdn handlebar adjustments aren't as sturdy as they could be, either. If Kettler is a German product, perhaps the exchange rate is the issue, because I seriously don't think this bike is worth more than $50. Get a balance bike, but if you want to save money, try another brand.

Good Bike
Well, so far (now that it's warmed up a bit here in Denver), I am using this as a commuter work bike. So far, no issues at all. Will keep a eye on it as I go, but gear systems seem to work well. Bike was VERY easy to put together. I purchased a hand held tire pump as well, so I will keep a eye on this to see how it performs over the summer.

Great Bike...Great Price!
My wife and I purchased this bike and the "women's versions" of this bike together as a Christmas gift to one another. First, I am 37 years-old and disabled. I needed a bike that is light, yet strong enough to handle my 250lb + frame. Well, this bike is light due to all the aluminum parts that make up the bike and it is the aluminum that gives the bike it strength as well. The bike was a breeze to unpack and set up. Once again, I am disabled, I do not have the strength to manipulate cumbersome items... and this truly was not a cumbersome task! One hour tops from UPS Truck to being able to ride it up my street and back. During the easy and very short set up process, I had time to admire the welds and other artisanship details... I found no flaws. The bike was put together well at the factory. There were no scratches from the assembly line. The welds appear uniform (which is an excellent sign of a good weld). If I have one complaint, it would be the seat... Oh my gosh, that seat! Like I said earlier, I am 37 years old and 250lb +, the seat on this bike is not meant for a large buttock as mine! I think a vertical "Wiffle Ball Bat" would have been more comfortable than this wedge of a seat. I was one bump away from a Proctologist appointment! I am going to remove the seat and install one of those "farm tracker seats"... you know, the ones with the giant coil springs under the copious amount of foam covered in heavy duty 'all weather' fake leather covering! Yea, the Schwinn seat has to go!

You can't go wrong for the price. I bought two of these bikes, one for me & one for my husband. I find the information that Amazon puts in the ad to be insufficient but overall they are good bikes for the money. They are rather small bikes but lucky for me we are short.

I am a little surprised that it comes left-handed. Maybe there is a way to switch it to right-handedness, but I cannot find any instruction to do so.

Great Bike!
My 4 1/2 year old absolutely loves this bike. It is very girly, with flowers on the seat and all over the frame and hearts on the tire tread. If you have a little "princess" it is just what she needs. The bike itself was very easy to assemble and is really sturdy. It is a pretty heavy bike, but my daughter doesn't seem to have any problems riding it or moving it around while walking beside it. Overall, my daughter and I both think it is a great bike!

Flashy bike
This bike was purchased for my 5 year old daughter. Like the other reviews, the package came pretty beat up. Fortunatly for me though, there were no missing pieces. The instruction book was confusing in that it showed the entire line of mongoose bikes and was only divided into two sections to find your bike and assemble it. This was just a temp. pain as when it was finished it worked just fine. My child rides it at fast speeds and it performs wonderfully. It is a very nice looking bike that gets compliments all the time, and my daughter still has plenty of room to grow into the bike and hopefully out of the training wheels(easily removable).

some what happy with purchase
My husband and I bought this bike for our daughter as a kindergarten graduation gift. It was important for us to select a bike with sturdy training wheels and sturdy construction. Well, what can I say......the bike is alright......not what we expected from a Mongoose or for the price. Our main dislike or concern is that the brake on the handle is too hard for our daughters small hands to reach and close properly. It is not a bad bike, but it is not our favorite either. Our daughter seems to have the same opinion.

Great starter bike for 9 yr old
I have been road biking for 20 years. I wanted to get my grandson something to replace his "half ton" single speed bmx . I did not want to spend a lot. Read a lot of reviews and chose to pass on this bike until I saw one in a bike stand. After looking at the frame and components I decided to buy it from Amazon. It was delivered no charge in two days. It has been perfect for my 9 yr old grandson. We are both biking together. It did require a few adjustments that anyone with metric allen wrenches can do. One suggestion, my grandson has big hands and even with these the brake levers are difficult. He now has mastered them, but a typical 9 year old will have trouble. These levers are for a full size adult. They should be replaced with levers to fit a 9 to twelve year old. Value for the cost is excellent and when he grows out of this bike I have three more grandsons to pass it down to. I would recommend this bike over the trek and other bikes for this age group thereby saving about $500 to put towards his next bike. I think that the grip shifters are more user friendly to a 9 years old then STI's especially since there is a numerical readout that allow him to know where he is when shifting. The most important critic is my grandson and he loves it.

Great Bike
Unbelievable value for money. My 11-year-old loves the bike. He says to only give a four-star rating because the brakes could use some improvements. Still, he rides all day!

Great bike at a fantastic value
This bike is a great buy. It is very difficult to find a junior road bike with 21 speed under $200.00 My son was not into the BMX stlye bikes or the Mountain Bikes with shocks. This bike moves realy fast! I took the advice from the previous reviewer and changed the handle bars to a straight bar because my son's reach to the curved handle bars was too far. It took my local bike shop about 1 hour to do and cost less than $60.00 for parts and labor. It needed brake handles and a handle bar and grips. I saw three other bikes in the same size in the bike shop that cost $600.00 and up! After comparing them to the components and weight, I am certain this bike is just as good and a great value!

good value for hard riders
The bike is a great bike for those youngsters who want to ride hard but not do great distances. Our first order arrived damaded but Amazon quickly sent another and my kids were off and riding.

Very nice bike...great price
I bought this as a gift for my 8 yr. old nephew and he absolutly loves it. I had seen a Mongoose bike for sale at Wal Mart for around $60.00, but you could instantly see the quality difference between this one and the cheaper bike. The price, $119.00 with free shipping was an excellant deal.

You get what you pay for !!
This is a Great looking bike. It arrived in only two days with the free shipping. Now for the bad. The front wheel wobbles. The front brake is garbage. I only get 12 gears instead of 18. Well, I can live with just 12 gears, it is more then enough for me. I am fairly handy and did my best in tweaking all items. The front brake is useless, so I just removed it. The fit and finish is about one can expect for a hundred dollar bike. I had to install two new inner tubes because the ones that came with the bike both blew out within the first hour of inflation. And I was quite careful with the overall inflation process. It does gets me around on short trips, and like I said, it looks great. Next time I buy a bike though, will be from a store where it is already assembled and I can check everything out before purchase. The agravation saved will be worth the extra cost.

It is what it is..... A cheap bike
Let me just say I have taken this bike out on 15 rides the first was a fairly light bike trail and it did ok. The 10+ rides after the first, consisted of street riding and bike trail riding. It handled fair for that. Took it out to the local nature preserve and by the time I was through I wanted to through it into the gulley. This bike is not made to handle offroad. It's definiteley not designed with street in mind either. So that brings me to the conclussion that this is a complete waste of time and money.

I did not buy this bike, I earned it through a program for selling insurance and bought it with my earned miles. I am no pro but I do know how to work on a bike. There is no reason to buy this bike. The suspension bottoms out on 70%-90% of the terrain you will find, even on fire roads. The brakes are no good. I adjusted them as I would any other bike and they worked for about 5 minutes before going back to exactly how they were before I adjusted. It was at the worst time too. Going down a steep hill hit the brakes full and took about 10-20 seconds before I slowed down to a speed where I could put my foot down. Next is the pedal, I have logged over 5,000 miles on previous bikes owned and the pedal broke off within 20 miles on this bike.

Being that this bike is equipped with a dual suspension you would think you can take it into some tough terrain. That is not the case. The only place I would ride this is on the street but then again that is not recommended because the brakes are very sketchy. It looks good but clearly this bike blows. I'm going to sell mine on craigslist for $20! Poor guy that buys it is going to save $80 just to pay hundreds in health insurance cost.

TO THE GUY THAT SAYS A FEW MINOR ADJUSTMENTS AND ITS GOOD: NO NO NO! You either work for Grays Peak or you have yet to take this on a hill. It falls apart, it breaks, it looks good, and the brakes do not work.

off my feet
I am 65 yrs. old and haven't ridden a bike in a number of years. After reading some neg. reviews, I checked the bike over completely when I opened the box. Everything was good and I wa surprised that I was able to assemble the bike myself. I am 4,000 miles from my mechanic (husband) in Texas, but I can read and know how to use tools. The instructions were very clear.
I am very pleased with my purchase and am looking forward to the day when riding will not make my legs so sore.

This short is OK for the beginner
When my wife bought me this short, I thought it was great. It was definitely better than the regular short that I used. She then bought me another short-a Pearl Izumi Classic 3D short. She paid $10 more for the Pearl Izumi. Well....I no longer use the Aerotech short anymore. My precious you-know-what got a little numb with the aerotech short after about 5 miles. The Pearl Izumi provided me with the comfort and protection for a much much longer ride. The quality is so much better for only $10 extra. The moral of the story is: spend a little more and not having remorse. The Pearl Izumi opened my mind to other great (and expensive) brands. The quality, design, and comfort that the more expensive brands offer is definitely worth it to me. Instead of trying to block the discomfort out of my brain, I can now concentrate on my workout!

No more pain
I am a new biker and this is my first pair of bike shorts. I don't have anymore @ss pain after a long ride. Most of the shorts I have seen in the stores have been $60 and up. I will be buying a few more or maybe the next level up. The best thing is they are made in the USA.

i followed the sizing chart on the page. said i should get a medium according to my waist size. they got here real quick. but they are unbearably tight in the crotch. like, "ruin your day" tight. they were cheep and i took a chance, but i think I'll be spending a little more at a bike shop or sporting goods store from now on just so i can try them on first. and I'll probably look at the baggy short style. was planning on just wearing them

Did not live to it's expectations...
I expected the bottle to keep liquids relatively cool but it's pretty much foil that's used for the polar insulation, a very cheap solution. I do like the volume of water it holds, the fact you can stick it in the dishwasher and the black loop to carry it around. However, it has no acrylic protective cap over the mouthpiece and I end up drinking with the cap off.

I've had one for years... Just got another.
I stumbled across these when they were only available in one color, the white, quite by chance and bought two. They keep drinks colder longer than a plain old bottle.

My husband started to use them to keep his beer cold -_-. The lager type beer didn't leave any aftertaste once washed out thoroughly. The Guinness however, once left out on the deck during the summer, not only retained an after-stink, but discolored the white plastic as well. I wasn't happy about losing one of my favorite bottles to Guinness-stink, but I let him keep that one as long as he left the other alone.

When I saw the Polar Bottles in colors years later, I couldn't resist. I can't put two 24 ounce bottles in my 17.5" Giant Rincon SE - I have to use a smaller bottle in the upright cage.

But I do go through them both in a couple hours during a summer ride here. I pop them in the freezer, but don't fill one but only half-way. That one I top off with water when I am about to leave so I'll actually have something to drink on the ride. If you just put water in them without freezing them, it does get hot and not quite so nice.

So if you're wondering: if I have to freeze it anyway, what good is it? Well, once frozen, it takes a lot longer to get unpleasantly warm than a regular bottle.

Just don't leave Guinness in them :P

EDIT: I froze both the new and the old Polar Bottles over night, allowing them to thaw to see if there was any difference between the two. Sitting on the counter together for an hour before I went out on a ride, the older Polar Bottle sweat considerably more than the new. I am not sure if this was due to a difference in manufacturing, or due to the age of the bottle, which has been frozen repeatedly over it's lifetime, but the insulation on the older bottle was clearly not working as well as the one I just bought here.

Not cold
I was looking for an insulated water bottle. This is somewhat insulated, but I put ice in it with some water, and it didn't stay cold more than a couple hours at the most. If I put in too much ice, then it is a little too slow melting. I like the looks and colors, but it didn't serve the purpose for which I purchased it.
